The Work
Depositions, hearings, trials, and recorded interviews — for court reporters, attorneys, and courts across Colorado's Front Range.
- VerbatimEvery word on the record — crosstalk, false starts, difficult accents, and hard-to-hear audio, all captured.
- FormattedQ&A, colloquy, exhibits, parentheticals, and sidebars — laid out to your state's requirements or the federal standard, not a generic template.
- CertifiedEvery transcript is certified and signed before it goes out. My name goes on the record next to yours.

Any difficult-audio surcharge is quoted before I start — never added to the invoice afterward.
Colorado state court and workers' compensation transcripts are billed at the rates set by Chief Justice Directive 05-03, and federal court transcripts at the Judicial Conference schedule. Those are fixed by the courts, not by me.

Estimate Your Job
Ballpark in ten seconds. Tell me how long the audio runs and I'll estimate the pages. The formal quote comes after I hear it.
Estimates use 50 pages per hour of audio — the yield federal courts publish for testimony. Dense attorney questioning runs nearer 60; narrative or single-speaker audio nearer 45.
The Transcriptionist
I'm Kelly Frisby. I spent twenty years in tech as a technical writer, business analyst, and project manager — work built on precise language and careful listening. Legal transcription isn't a career change so much as a distillation: keep the accuracy and the language, drop the meetings.
I work from Loveland, Colorado, and take the view that a transcript is a legal instrument, not a typing exercise.
